Cars to cost most after one month; Manufacturers in India to implement price hike from April 2025

Maruti Suzuki, Kia will be implementing a price hike of 4 percent and 3 percent respectively while Tata Motors is yet to specify the price hike across its models.

Buyers in India have to pay more for a new car if they are purchasing it next month onwards. Prominent car manufacturing companies in India like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai will be hiking the prices of entire line-up of cars/ SUVs and the price change will be taking effect on April 2025, mentioned a report from Autocar India. The price hike is directly related to the rising input costs and operational expenses of the carmakers.

Details about the price hike

Maruti Suzuki will implement the highest price hike among car manufacturers in India. The leading car manufacturer in India will offer 4 percent rise in its prices. This price hike will be the car manufacturer third price hike in 2025. Earlier prices were increased by up to Rs 32,500 for Celerio, Brezza, Alto K10 and other models.

Increasing material cost and problems in supply chain issues is the prime cause of price rise, mentioned Autocar Professional in its report.

Hyundai’s popular cars like Creta, Verna, Venue and Tucson will also cost more by up to 3 percent from April 2025. Kia Motors, which is a part of Hyundai Motor Group, will also implement a price hike of up to 3 percent across its entire line-up in India. This means that car models like Seltos, Sonet, Syros, EV6, EV9, Carens and Carnival will cost more in our country.

Honda India has also hinted that due to the rising input costs and an operational expense, a price hike is likely to be implemented.

On the other hand, Renault will be increasing prices of its car models by up to 2 percent from next month. This means that Kwid, Kiger, and Triber will cost more from April 2025.
