Barang: Throwing an open challenge to police unidentified miscreants looted gold jewellery weighing around 1 kg from a shop at gunpoint in Godisahi village under Barang police limits in Cuttack district last night.
As per the report, a group of at least six bike-borne miscreants struck the Lalita Jewellers in Godisahi in the closing hours of the business and thrashed the owner mercilessly.
Later, the looters took away gold jewellery from the shop by putting the staffs at gunpoint.
Godisahi Police rushed to the spot after intimation on the loot and sent the injured shop owner to hospital for treatment.
While police have launched a manhunt to trace the absconding looters, they claimed that CCTV hard disk of the shop is also missing.
