Khallikote: In a shocking incident, open firing has been reported in front of the house and shop of a counselor in Khallikote of Odisha’s Ganjam district.
According to sources, blank firing was done in front of the house and shop of Narayan Barik, the counselor of the ward number 11 under Khallikote of the district. Reportedly, a group of car-borne miscreants came to the area and initiated blank firing.
The miscreants further entered inside the house, attacked the counselor’s brother and broke one bike. As per reports given by the locals, three to four miscreants came in a car and opened fire in the area. They further entered into the house and attacked them. After this, the miscreants fled from the spot.
After being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
