Mumbai: The season 6 of Karan Johar’s celebrity talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’ kickstarted with a bang. The first episode saw two of the most lovely ladies of Bollywood gracing the couch- Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt. The duo were at the craziest best on the show and gave the show a bang-on opening.
The show, which premiered on Sunday night, began with Karan taking viewers on a flashback of all the events that happened in the industry between the last season and this season. Post this, he welcomed Alia and Deepika on the show before applauding the duo for having a fantastic year at the box office (Deepika’s Padmavat made Rs. 300 crores and Alia’s Raazi grossed Rs.120 crore at the box office).
On a question by Karan, Deepika revealed that a lot of people from the industry supported her personally when she was being threatened by religious fringe group during Padmavat’s release. However, they refrained from supporting her publicly which was disheartening.
The questions later shifted to Ranbir Kapoor who is the common thread between the duo (Alia is dating Deepika’s ex, Ranbir Kapoor). On this, both Alia and Deepika were at one that there is no awkwardness between them because of Ranbir.
Deepika remarked that acceptance of one’s past, present and future has a big part to play in bringing in a feeling of comfort with each other. “It only gets better. I couldn’t have asked more. I think the relationship that we share today, what I value the most and I don’t think it could be in a better place,” she said about Ranbir Kapoor.
Alia said, “I don’t hold on to things. There’s nothing to feel awkward about. If there’s an awkward conversation, then, of course, that will spring up some awkwardness. There is nothing to feel bad about and we are all very happy, at peace and content.”
The rapid fire round, was one helluva session on the show. Alia chose Ranbir over spending time with her cats. She said Ranbir has ‘the most dreamy eyes’ and revealed that she desires a body like Deepika. Alia also revealed that she is enamoured by Dippy’s airport look.
On the other hand, Deepika said Ranveer will always be a mama’s boy as a husband, Fawad Khan has the most dreamy eyes. When asked which of Alia’s films she would want to feature in, she replied- “Student of the Year and Raazi.” However, it was Alia who finally won the Koffee Hamper.
