War Crime: 17 year old Ukrainian girl recalls being called “too ugly” to be raped

It has been more than a month since Russia declared war on Ukraine. Since then, many cases of war crimes has been coming to surface. Amid this, the story of a 17-year-old girl who stayed in her house for four days with the corpses of her family members has emerged and it is heartbreaking.

The details on this case was shared by Lyudmila Denisova, Ukraine’s Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, on Facebook. On her post she wrote that the teenage girl and her grandmother reached out to the Commissioner for Provision of Confidential Psychological Assistance, who gave permission for her story to be published.

The girl said that three Russian soldiers came to her home in Irpin a few days ago. It is to be noted that Irpin is town located around 12 miles away from the capital Kyiv.

She further stated that the troops raped her mother and her 15-year-old younger sister in front of her eyes. They were beaten and raped with cruelty before being killed.

Denisova further noted that the girl is currently in a state of psychological shock as she has also lived with the corpses in the house for four days.

“After the liberation of the city, she was able to get to her grandmother,” Denisova added.

While her family members were being killed she was being “held and not touched.” The girl said that it happened because the troops said that she is ugly.

The girl is now receiving psychological help.
