Vladimir Putin to reach New Delhi today

New Delhi:  Russian President Vladimir Putin will reach here on Thursday on a two day visit to India. He will attend the 19th India-Russia Annual Bilateral Summit.

The signing of a deal for Russia’s S-400 Triumf air defence system is the key feature of the visit.

The visiting President will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

Both the leaders will deliberate on a range of regional and global issues with a focus on further boosting the bilateral ties. Several agreements are expected to be signed after the talks.

The Russian President will also address the India-Russia Business Summit and will interact with a group of talented children. Before leaving for Moscow, Putin will have a meeting with President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The last annual summit was held on June 1st last year, during the visit of the Prime Minister Modi to Russia.

In May this year, Mr Modi had traveled to Russian coastal city of Sochi for an informal summit with Mr Putin during which they discussed a range of crucial issues.
