UK cop arrests woman on false charges, rapes, murders her

London: A serving UK police officer kidnapped a woman as she was walking back home on London street, handcuffed her in a false arrest for breaking coronavirus restrictions, before raping and murdering her.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sarah Everard (33), she was working as a marketing executive.

The incident took place on March 3, while she walked home from visiting a friend in south London. Wayne Couzens, 48, who served with the elite diplomatic protection unit of London’s Metropolitan Police abducted Everard and drove her far outside the city, and then raped, killed her and then set on fire.

Later, her body was found in woodland around 50 miles (80 km) away in southeast England.

Justice Adrian Fulford said Couzens misused his role as police officer and the circumstances of the case were “devastating, tragic and wholly brutal.” Couzens went “hunting a lone female to kidnap and rape,” having planned the crime in “unspeakably” grim detail, the judge said, according to the reports  abc action news.

During the hearing, it was also learned that the British police officer had planned in advance to carry out the incident. He had hired a car and got items from the Amazon website to hide the body.

One witness saw Everard being handcuffed before her abduction and police investigating the case said he may have used COVID-19 protocols as an excuse to falsely arrest her.
