Terrorist incidents around the world in 2018

Bhubaneswar: Every year various terrorist outfits wreak havoc on various parts of the world. Their sole purpose is to attain supremacy over the world. Due to their mindless activities, hundreds of innocents lose their lives every year. And this year was no different.

In this article, we will discuss the major terrorist activities that had the worst effect. The details and pictures can be gory. Viewers’ discretion is requested. These are arranged chronologically.

This fateful incident occurred on the fateful January 27. At least 103 people were killed and about 235 people were injured. This was done by a Talibani suicide bomber who ironically laced an ambulance with explosives. The ambulance exploded near Sidarat Square in Central Kabul, Afghanistan where all major government offices are located. It was a part of side-effects of war in Afghanistan.

Suicide bombing in Mastung, Pakistan

This disastrous incident was undertaken by an Islamic State (IS) soldier on July 13. This happened at Mastung in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. At least 149 people were killed and injuring over 186. Balochistani Awami Party candidate Nawabzada Siraj Raisai was killed in this blast. North-West Pakistan is an extremely unstable part of Pakistan currently, with people of Balochistan raging with their fight for an independent country.

This calamitous incident occurred on July 25 at As-Suwayda Governorate, Syria. Islamic State (IS) militants carried out suicide attacks and mass shootings in the city of As-Suwayda and a number of villages under As-Suwayda Governorate. At least 255 people were killed, including 142 civilians, and injuring 180 others. Also, 63 terrorists were killed; including the suicide bombers. The jihadists had also seized a score of hostages from the villages. These attacks were part of the Syrian Civil War.

Shooting in Borno State, Nigeria

On ominous November 18, Boko Haram militants attacked a military base in the Nigerian town of Metele. At least 118 soldiers were dead after the incident and about 153 others are still missing while this article was being written. The Boko Haram militants are loyal to ISIS. These attacks were a part of Boko Haram insurgency engulfing Nigeria.

These horrific acts in the name of independence or religion are nothing but shameful.
