Washington: A gunman shot at least five people dead including his wife before shooting himself in the Bakersfield city of Southern California on Wednesday.
Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood said that man first showed up at a trucking business with his wife shortly before 5.30 PM where he confronted another man.
The gunman then went to a home where he shot and killed a man and a woman.
Police received information about the incident and arrived at the scene. But the gunman drove towards a nearby highway after hijacking a car, where he was stopped by a deputy. As the deputy confronted him, the gunman shot himself dead.
The motive of the shooting is yet to be ascertained and investigators are currently quizzing 30 eyewitnesses.
