Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has flown to India in military helicopter after large deadly protest broke out in the nation.
It is suspected that PM Sheikh Hasina will resign from her post as hundreds of thousands of protesters demanded her to resign amid a deadly anti-government stir.
Meanwhile, the PM’s son has urged the country’s security forces to block any attempts to stage a forceful takeover.
It is worth mentioning here that nearly 100 people were killed, while dozens were injured after thousands of protestors clashed with the ruling party supporters in Bangladesh
the clashes broke out when protesters attending a non-cooperation program to demand the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation faced opposition from government supporters.
Following the clashes, the nation’s Home Ministry have imposed an indefinite countrywide curfew amid fierce clashes. Additionally, mobile internet has been tightly restricted countrywide. Similarly, a three-day general holiday has been declared on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure public safety amid the ongoing violent protests across the nation.
Earlier, over 200 people were killed in violent clashes between the police and mostly student protesters demanding an end to the controversial quota system that reserved 30 per cent of government jobs for relatives of veterans who fought in Bangladesh’s War of Independence in 1971.
