Russian forces on Friday struck an area around Lviv’s airport in western Ukraine, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi informed and no casualties have been reported yet.
A thick pall of grey smoke streamed across clear blue sky over Lviv’s airport in western Ukraine at 7:30 am Friday.
Writing on messaging app Telegram, Sadovyi says he can’t not give a precise address of the targeted area ” but it’s definitely not an airport.”
The airport is located some 70 kilometers from Ukraine’s border with Poland. Lviv is the largest city in western Ukraine and a popular tourist destination known for its picturesque views.
At least three blasts were heard in the western city of Lviv on Friday morning, a local television station reported.
