New-Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday endorsed US President Donald Trump as a man of peace and a leader the world needed the most at this point, even as he nominated US President for the Nobel Peace Prize.

It will be Pakistan’s second time putting up Trump for the prize. In June, Pakistan nominated Trump for his role in securing a ceasefire agreement between Islamabad and neighboring India.

“Pakistan had nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his outstanding, extraordinary contributions to first stop the war between India and Pakistan and then achieve a ceasefire,” Sharif said.

He said, he would like to nominate Trump again for the Nobel Peace Prize for “saving millions of lives not only in South Asia but also in the Middle East”.

“Today is one of the greatest days in contemporary history because peace has been achieved after untiring efforts, led by President Trump, who is genuinely a man of peace, who has relentlessly worked throughout this month to make this world a place to live with peace and prosperity,” Sharif said.

Shehbaz Sharif went on to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, calling him the “most genuine and wonderful candidate.”

Today again, I would like to nominate this great President for the Nobel Peace Prize because I genuinely feel that he is the most genuine and the most wonderful candidate,” Sharif added.

Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s reaction to Sharif’s praise for US President Donald Trump grabbed the internet’s attention. As Sharif nominated Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize and hailed him as “a man of peace,” In the video, Meloni was taken aback and was seen covering her mouth. The clip has gone viral and has been drawing million of views.
