Pakistan violates ceasefire in J&K’s Akhnoor sector

Srinagar: Pakistani troops on Monday violated ceasefire by targeting forward posts and villages along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector.

According to reports, the firing from across the border started around 3 AM and stopped at 6. 30 AM today. The enemy country initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing mortar shells and small arms on forward posts and villages along the LoC.

The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively. There was no report of any casualty on the Indian side.

Last week, Pakistan had violated ceasefire several times in Nowshera, Mendhar and Krishna Ghati sectors in Rajouri district, Gawahalan, Chokas, Kiker and Kathi posts in the Uri sector and Poonch’s Balakote.
