US Vice President JD Vance, Usha welcome baby boy, mark historic White House first

Alec Neel Vance, the couple's fourth child, is the first born to a sitting vice president since the mid-1800s.

Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance have given birth to their fourth child. Second Lady Vance welcomed a son named Alec Neel Vance on Sunday .

This was reported by the Vice President himself on social media.

Baby Alec Neel Vance was born at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

The Vice President thanked the hospital and White House Medical Unit staff, and said their three older children were delighted with their little brother.

Alec Neel Vance, a newly born child of the sitting US Vice President, made history.

According to the data, in more than 150 years, the children of US Vice Presidents were born – the last time it was the child of Vice President Schuyler Colfax in 1870.

US Vice President Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance are already parents of three children – Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel.

JD and Usha, a married couple since 2014 and classmates at the Yale Law School, are congratulated on the addition to their family by politicians of all levels, the US president and vice president, as well as many public figures.
