iPhone survived 16,000-foot fall after an Alaska Airlines flight faced an emergency on January 6 after one of its doors blew open mid-air.

An Apple iPhone survived 16,000-foot fall after an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-9 MAX faced an emergency on January 6 after one of its doors blew open mid-air, minutes after take-off.

According to reports, a man, identified as Seanathan Bates, was walking Barnes Road, discovered the recovered iPhone. When he turned on the phone, he discovered that the phone was already in flight mode.

Following the incident, Seanathan Bates took to his X handle and tweeted, “Found an iPhone on the side of the road… Still in airplane mode with half a battery and open to a baggage claim for #AlaskaAirlines ASA1282 Survived a 16,000 foot drop perfectly intact! When I called it in, Zoe at @NTSB said it was the SECOND phone to be found. No door yet.”

However, who the iPhone belong to is not confirmed yet. The device was discovered to be in good condition and had not damaged due to fall. The tweet has garnered over 18 million views and received nearly 82,600 likes.

Reacting to the post, one user wrote, “Apple is gonna have a field day with this.” Meanwhile another person commented, “Wow! That’s amazing. The Marketing Department at Apple might be burning the midnight oil, planning to create an incredible advert out of this unfortunate incident.”

On January 6, the laska Airline flight AS1282 was on its way to Ontario in Californaia with a total of 174 passengers. Soon after take-off, a window of the plane blew out. This prompted the piot to make an emergency landing at Oregaon in the United States.
