Indian woman found murdered in US apartment, Prime suspect ex-boyfriend flees to India
Maryland police says a 27 year old woman was stabbed to death at her former partner’s flat; murder warrants issued as suspect leaves the country.
New York: Nikitha Godishala, a 27-year-old Indian lady, was found dead inside an apartment in Columbia, Maryland, informed US police. As per police reports, she had been stabbed several times, which is said to be the reason of her death.
Godishala was reported missing after she did not come home on January 1. Her last known location was located in her ex-boyfriend’s residence, according to investigators.
On January 3, police searched the apartment and found her body. Authorities have accused 26-year-old Arjun Sharma, her ex-boyfriend, of first and second-degree murder.
Investigation reports have revealed that Sharma departed the US soon after Godishala vanished and is suspected to have traveled to India. Federal and international agencies have been notified and arrest warrants have been filed by US authorities.
The victim’s family has been notified, and the Indian Embassy is in communication with them. The investigation is still ongoing.
