Indian aircrafts intruded into Muzaffarabad sector: Pakistan Armed Forces

Islamabad: Pakistan Armed Forces spokesperson on Tuesday reacted to Indian Air Forces’ early morning attack at Balakot area and said that it was actually an intrusion into Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K also known as PoK in India).

Major General Asif Ghafoor, the official spokesperson for Pakistan Armed Forces (PAF), tweeted- “Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzafarabad Sector within AJ&K was 3-4 miles. Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow.”

Ghafoor also tweeted and said that PAF’s timely reaction to Indian Air Force’s intrusion, forced the latter to leave in a hurry. He clearly mentioned that “no casualties or damage” was reported.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Finance Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has summoned an emergency meeting today to “discuss the situation after Indian Air Force’s violation of LOC. The meeting will discuss the security situation. It will be attended by former secretaries and senior ambassadors.

In less than two weeks of Pulwama terror attack, Indian Air Force today raided Balakot area in Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK) at about 3.30 am and destroyed a number of training camps operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed. Around 200-300 militants have been reportedly killed.

In a fatal IED attack at Pulwama by Jaish-e-Mohammed on February 14,  at least 40 CRPF jawans were killed.
