India Protests Against Harassment Of High Commission Officials In Pakistan

New Delhi: India on Friday vehemently condemned the harassment as well as denial of access to Indian high commission officials and attempts to promulgate hostility during the visit of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan. New Delhi said Islamabad’s actions were not in sync with its proclaimed intention of facilitating the pilgrim visit.

On Thursday, India had announced that it will construct a corridor (on its side of the border) to Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan and urged Pak to do the same on the other side.

India also expressed displeasure regarding the presence of pro-Khalistan posters and flags outside Sikh places of worship in Nankana Sahib. In an official statement, a spokesperson of the MEA said, “We have also expressed grave concern at the reports of attempts being made to incite communal disharmony and intolerance and promote secessionist tendencies with the objective of undermining India’s sovereignty’.
