India not to attend opening or closing ceremony of Beijing Winter Olympics
New Delhi: India will not attend either the opening or the closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. It was announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) following the reports of China making a Chinese Army officer who was injured in the Galwan Valley clash with India the torch bearer in the in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

It is to be noted that at least 20 Indian Army men, including an officer, were killed during a violent face-off in 2020 with China’s People’s Liberation Army troops at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh region.
