New Delhi: A 26-year-old woman from Hyderabad seeks help after she was lured for housemaid job in Oman but is now stuck there. There she is being forced to work for 15 hours every day but has not got any payment for her job since four months
This incident occurred after she was promised for a job of housemaid at a good monthly salary of around Rs 50,000 per month in Muscat, Oman .
The victim woman is identified as Shabnam Begum from Hyderabad.
Shabnam went there on March 26 and started working; she was forced to work for 12-15 hours without any payment in different houses, enough food and also allegedly faced physical abuse.
As per reports, the woman’s phone was also taken by the employers for more than one month. She somehow managed to escape the house she was working at and went to Indian Embassy in Muscat for help.
The Indian Embassy said it is monitoring the case and coordinating with local authorities.
Meanwhile, the woman’s family has urged the government to ensure her safe return and take action against the agent who recruited her.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
