Germany supports France’s stance on JeM Chief Masood Azhar

New Delhi: Germany has come out in support of France to declare Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist in the European Union (EU). The fresh support came days after China blocked a proposal initiated by US, UK and France at the UNSC 1267 Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee.

International community has always stood with India in fighting terrorism. In recent wake of Pulwama attack conducted by Pakistan-based JeM, India had moved to UNSC to declare Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. China has been blocking the move for last ten years.

Sources say Germany along with France is in touch with several member nations of the European Union for listing Azhar as a terrorist which will result in his travel ban as well as freezing of his assets.
