Facebook Evacuates Buildings At Headquarters After Bomb Threat

San Francisco:  Facebook on Tuesday evacuated a few buildings at its headquarters campus in Menlo Park following a bomb threat. Nicole Acker, a spokesperson for the Menlo Park police, said the evacuation was confined to a three-story facility on campus.

The Police said a bomb threat at the Facebook Headquarters had prompted authorities to evacuate a building at the Silicon Valley headquarters of near San Francisco. However, after hours of the search operation, no explosives were found on the premises.

FB Spokesperson Nicole Acker informed that the evacuation was confined to a three-story facility on campus and not the headquarters building. Facebook and police said everyone was safe. Acker said she had received no information of anything suspicious having been found inside the building.

The hoax bomb threat comes after YouTube faced a similar security threat in May this year when a woman open fired at its headquarters in San Francisco, injuring three before shooting herself dead.
