Bhubaneswar: Internationally acclaimed sprinter from Odisha Dutee Chand will visit Italy shortly. The ace athlete will represent KIIT University at the World University Games. The event will commence on July 3 to continue till July 14.
Dutee will compete in the 100 meters, 200 meters and relay race in this event. Sports director of KIIT Dr. Gaganendu Das will accompany her in this tour. World University Games will be held in the Naples city in Southern Italy.
“I am extremely thankful to Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samant for his support towards this tour. I am very much hopeful about winning medals in this grand event,” Dutee said.
“I am participating in the World University Games for the second time. Back in 2017, I had taken part in this grand event in Taipei. However, due to ill health, I could not perform well. However, in the meanwhile, I have improved a lot. Even in the Asian Games, I had earned two silver medals.”
