Winter warmer: Here’s a quick ramen recipe for the cold nights

Ramen is widely regarded as a perfect comfort food for winter days, offering a warm, hearty bowl that provides nourishment and warmth.

Ramen dishes, which originated in Japan, feature springy noodles served in a rich, flavorful broth, often topped with ingredients such as sliced meat, soft-boiled eggs, green onions, and other vegetables.

As the colder days are here, a steaming bowl of ramen will not only chase away the cold, but also offer a satisfying and cosy winter treat.

Here’s an easy recipe for a delicious, nutritious bowl of ramen.

Prepare the broth In a pot, simmer the stock of your choice (chicken or vegetable) with garlic, ginger, salt, and soy sauce. You can also add noodle masala and pepper to enhance the taste.

Add your vegetables and necessary protein Toss in your vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, carrots, corn, peas, and green onions. Follow up with sliced chicken, tofu, or paneer. Simmer until tender.

Cook the noodles Add ramen noodles directly to the broth and cook until just springy for at least 2–3 minutes.

Final additions Stir in a drizzle of sesame oil, chilli oil, and a few drops of vinegar or lemon juice. Taste and adjust with salt or soy sauce.

Serve hot Pour the ramen into bowls and top with a soft-boiled egg, spring onions and coriander. Serve steaming as perfect for cold days.
