State Unified Command meets to discuss Maoists menace

Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: An important meeting of the state Unified Command (UC) to chalk out strategies for the anti-Maoist operation in the state is underway here on Thursday.

According to reports, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi is chairing the meeting being held at the office of the Intelligence Bureau here.

The meeting is likely to discuss the ways and means to carry out the anti-Maoist operations to decrease the Maoist menace in the state.

The meeting is also likely to discuss the abduction of Canadian national John Szlazak, who was missing in a Maoist area in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma since Monday and was set free yesterday.

Top officials including Home Secretary, Additional DG (IB), DGP, IG (Operation), IG (CRPF) and BSF IG are attending the meeting.
