Ram Navami celebrated with religious fervour across state

Bhubaneswar, Apr 04: The festival of Ram Navami, the birth of Lord Rama, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the state on Tuesday.

Devotees in large numbers thronged various temples across the state since early morning to offer prayers and seek blessings of Lord Ram.

Musical recitals of Ramcharitmanas and Ram Katha Amrit were organised in various shrines.

In Bhubaneswar, hundreds of devotees made beeline to offer their prayers to Lord Ram, Lakshman and Devi Sita at the famous Ram Mandir.

Special rituals will be conducted in Jagannath Temple in Puri to mark the occasion.

Ram Navami falls on the ninth day of the Hindu lunar year or Navaratri and is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Security personnel have been deployed on the temple premises for the smooth conduct of the festival.
