Nine towns record temp above 43 degrees

Bhubaneswar: Intense heat wave continued to sweep Odisha with nine towns recording temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

According to the regional Meteorological department, Titlagarh was the hottest town of the state today at 46.5 degrees Celsius followed by Malkangiri (45.6), Sonepur and Bhawanipatna (45.2).

The other towns which witnessed temperature above 43 degrees were Angul (43.1), Jharsuguda (43.6), Sambalpur (43.4), Hirakud (43.4) and Balangir (44.8).

While the port city of Paradip saw the lowest temperature of the day with 34 degrees, the residents of the capital city Bhubaneswar had to bear scorching heat of 39.3 degree Celsius accompanied with extreme humidity today.
