On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has attended the state-level Krushak Divas celebrations at Laxminarayanpur in Pipili area. Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy was also present at the occasion.
The CM inaugurated ‘Akhi Muthi’, which marks the beginning of farming season in the state. He also felicitated the farm achievers.
On this occasion, the CM highlighted the schemes announced by his government for the farmers’ welfare. “Development of agriculture and farmers are top priority”, he said.
He further added that Odisha Govt had set up two corpus funds of Rs 100 crore each for seeds and fertilisers and provided crop loan facility to the farmers at 1% interest. Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy said that the government is considering farm loan waiver and insurance cover for the farmers.
