While senior BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab’s recent article published in a leading Odia Daily had become a hot debate in the political circle in Odisha, his fresh column in one of the Odia newspapers on Sunday says that the objective is not to reply to anyone but to clarify things as certain TV channels tried to amplify his first column.

In the article, the Cuttack MP clarifies that he never talked about any infighting in BJD, but asked party spokespersons not to expose their weakness by responding to even local BJP leaders.

Taking a dig at his party colleagues Dr. Damodar Rout and Surjya Narayan Patro, Mahatab asks if there was any fighting in the party and that he was living in Delhi only, how he was elected five times from Cuttack.

“BJD has not done poorly in Panchayat polls as being propagated by BJP. The state BJP gained success due to loss of Congress votes,” he mentioned in his writing.

“I have not come to the politics to make money or to please anybody. I am doing what BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik says me to do and will continue to do so. I will resign from my post if he asks me,” added Mahtab.
