Bhubaneswar: The regional Meteorological department on Friday predicted heavy rains in different parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
Districts like Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Puri, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur will witness heavy rain in the next 24 hours under the influence of a low pressure formed over west-central Bay of Bengal, the Met office said..
The rain would continue till June 11 in the north and interior parts of the state under the influence of the low pressure, it said.
Shortly after noon today, heavy rain was reported in districts like Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput and Rayagada. Bhubaneswar too received rains in the afternoon.
