KISS statewide plantation drive enters third day

Plantation driveSubarnapur: The six-day statewide plantation drive launched by the Bhubaneswar-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) entered on third day on Saturday.

Teams of the largest tribal residential school of the world visited different places across the state and held awareness programmes on cleanliness, education, health and tree plantation.

In Subarnapur district, a team of the institute visited the Dunguripali Community Health Centre and cleaned the surroundings. Besides, it distributed milk and biscuits to the patients.

This apart, an awareness meeting on how the children belonging to BPL category can get free education in KISS was held on the premises of the hospital.

Many students of KISS, their parents and tribal leaders attended the programme.

The plantation drive, which was launched with the theme ‘Nua Mano, Nua Sapon; Gaon Ku Chhalo’ (New Mind, New Dream, March To Village) on June 1, will conclude on June 6.
