The Orissa High Court on Wednesday quashed the election case filed against Rajya Sabha MP N Bhaskar Rao.
The court quashed the petition filed against the BJD Rajya Sabha MP by Congress MLA Bhujabal Majhi. Besides, it imposed a Rs 20,000 fine on the MLA.
The Dabugam legislator had filled a petition against Rao alleging that the latter had furnished false information about his income in the affidavit he submitted at the time of filing of nomination for election and sought to declare Rao’s election null and void. However, the court quashed the petition for non-submission of the copy to the Parliamentarian.
