Rourkela: Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray on Thursday thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after the latter wrote to Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari urging him to expedite construction of a new bridge over Brahmani river on NH-143 near Panposh in the steel city.
Speaking to Kalinga TV, Ray said, “I am thankful to the Chief Minister for taking up the matter of the bridge on Brahmani with Union Road Transport Minister. It was a genuine demand, which will benefit the residents of not just the Steel City, but the entire district of Sundargarh.”
The former Union Minister also expressed resentment on the Union government saying, “I had met the Prime Minister and Road Transport Minister personally several times with the demand. But, it went unheard.”
“After failing to make any headway, I had approached the Prime Minister along with Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram too. But nothing came out of it,” he added.
