Coastal security will be increased in Odisha: DGP

Following the Sukma encounter, Odisha police has decided to tighten security across the coastal areas of the state.

DGP KB Singh held a high-level meeting in this regard with Coast Guard DIG Rajesh Makwana at police DG camp office on Wednesday.

Singh, after attending the meeting, informed the reporters that security will be increased at different ports of the state like Paradip, Chandipur and Dhamra. Besides, patrolling will be intensified across the coastal areas of Odisha while the marine security personnel will be trained for patrolling in the deep sea, added the top cop.

The meeting also decided to keep the Puri Jagannath Temple and Sun Temple at Konark under heavy security blanket to avoid any untoward incident.
