Attack on medico: SCB junior doctors walk to meet Governor

Cuttack, Mar 29: A team of 15 junior doctors of SCB Medical College and Hospital walked from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar to meet Governor today seeking safety of the working doctors at all health centres across the state.

The team of the junior doctors, which had begun its Padyatra to Raj Bhawan yesterday, will meet Governor Dr S C Jamir and submit a memorandum seeking safety of the working doctors. On the other hand, the health services in the government-run hospital crippled as the cease work stir of the junior doctors entered third day today.

The post graduate students and house surgeon of the Medical College and Hospital are supporting the strike.

The agitators had launched the cease work stir after the kin of a patient, who died while undergoing treatment in the TB ward of the hospital, thrashed a junior doctor alleging negligence in treatment on Sunday.

Though, police arrested the accused yesterday, the junior doctors are now demanding security for the doctors across the state.
