Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary AP Padhi on Thursday directed concerned officials to advance the deadline for completion of the work on he Rengali Dam mega irrigation project in Angul district.
The directive came during a review of the second phase of the project at a review meeting at the state Secretariat here today.
The irrigation project, which will provide irrigation to 39,416 hectares of land, was slated to be completed by 2023.
The Chief Secretary also directed the Agriculture Department to take steps to make the farmers aware of the new developed means of farming and help them to make use of them for larger output. Four officials from the Agriculture Department will go on deputation to the area for the purpose, sources revealed.
