93,000 have registered for GST in Odisha

GST OdishaBhubaneswar: Chief Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax, Rakesh Sharma today revealed that 93, 000 out of the total of 1.80 VAT payers in Odisha have already registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Addressing a press meet here, Sharma said 50,617 people have been issued the Application Reference Number (ARN).

He said an awareness campaign on GST would be launched for businessmen ahead of July 1, 2017 when GST will come into effect.

The Odisha Assembly has already passed the GST Bill last month through a special session.
