Yamaha to relaunch RX100 Gunmetal Grey Edition

Yamaha made many of its ardent followers happy by announcing that it is set to re-launch one of its most famous bikes RX100

The Yamaha RX 100 was a motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha from 1985 to 1996 and distributed in India. It was one of the most iconic motorcycles to be launched. It ran for about two decades but then had to be discontinued.

The popularity of Yamaha RX10o is monumental. This forced Yamaha to bring RX moniker to its youngest Saluto variant in Gunmetal Grey Edition. The inspiration for the colour variant comes from Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gunmetal.  The motorcycle comes with a completely restored body and certain aftermarket additions for added practicality and head-turning first look appeal.

This RX100 comes with dual projector headlight supporting round headlight, multiple spoke chrome and black alloy wheels and an impressive belly pan with a raised design for impressive looks. The fuel tank flaunts Gunmetal Grey with black pinstripes and Yamaha branding while side panels carry RX100 branding over the same shade. An all-new seat with perfect space for two riders has been installed on the motorcycle. Most moving parts of the engine were retained from the original bike and no disc brake was added to keep originality intact. Yamaha RX100 is powered by a 98cc, single cylinder, two-stroke engine producing 11 BHP at 7500 rpm and 10.4 Nm at 6500 rpm.

This amount of power is expected from 125cc bikes of the present era but those also weight almost 20 kg over the wet weight of Yamaha RX100. That makes the power to weight ratio of RX100 comparable to performance spec 150cc bikes of India. The top speed gets limited to 100 kmph due to lower overall output. This typical version here also gets Gunmetal Grey shade in the engine section. The motorcycle was built during 1985-1996, coming to a sudden end with government bringing strict emission laws banning two-stroke bike sales in India.

The YAMAHA RX100 Bike shown in the picture is an Old YAMAHA RX100 Modified Bike. There is no chance of YAMAHA RX100 relaunching the same bike as 2 Stroke Engines have been banned since 1995 itself after strict Emission Norms came into force. So please don’t mislead public that YAMAHA will relaunch the same Old Bike as 2 STROKE ENGINES cannot meet the strict and very stringent Emission Norms of the present day i,e: BS6 EMISSION NORMS. Automobile Manufacturers have already stopped manufacturing BS1, BS2, BS3 and BS4 Vehicles. (BS5 Emission Norms were skipped) From BS4 it directly came to BS6 to keep up the competition in International Level where EURO 6 is already introduced.
