Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 Smartphone Series Launched In India

New Delhi: Mobile Manufacturer Xiaomi launched its new Redmi 6 series of smartphones in India on Wednesday.The new series is being marketed by the company under a tagline of ‘Desh ke Naye Smartphones’. The Redmi 6 series succeed the popular Redmi 5 series, which had broken sale records in India last year.

The Redmi 6 model boosts of a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 display resolution. It comes in 4 colours- Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Blue. It has a dual-camera setup with a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The device ships with a 3000mAh battery, which the company claims offers an improvement of 11 percent in terms of call time and up to 21 percent for music and video playback. The smartphone has a fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock.

Similarly, Xiaomi Redmi 6A has a 5.45-inch 18:9 display with HD+ resolution. It comes in four colours- Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Blue. The device consumes 48 percent less power than the Redmi 5A and has a dedicated microSD card slot apart from two SIM card slots. The smartphone has Dual VoLTE dual standby which enables one to use both SIMs on 4G as long as the network supports VoLTE. Redmi 6A has a rear camera with a 13-megapixel sensor and PDAF and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It also has an electronic image stabilisation for less shaky videos.

Lastly, Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro comes with a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with a notch and a 19:9 display ratio. The smartphone comes in 4 colours- Red, Gold, Black and Blue. It has a dual rear camera setup and promises a two-day battery life. The smartphone also features a fingerprint unlock, face unlock, unlock with Mi Band, and smart unlock at trusted locations. Redmi 6 Pro also has a dedicated microSD slot along with two SIM slots.

All the three devices will be available on Amazon India and Flipkart.
