WhatsApp is about to get even better with the addition of a new upcoming feature that will enable users to customize texts to suit their taste. According to reports, the Meta-owned messaging platform is rolling out a new text editor experience to some beta testers on Android beta.

Beta testers can now edit photos, videos and GIFs in the text editor, reports WABetaInfo.

The new text editor is said to provide a new text editing experience to users. This feature will likely be rolled out to all users in a future update.

This feature is a whole new editing tool that will allow users edit more files using WhatsApp. Apart from editing of texts, the feature will also allow users to edit files such as images, GIFs, and video files.

The feature is reportedly available for beta testers on Android and the update for iOS is under development.

With this feature, the users can customize texts however they want. Users will be allowed to choose different font styles from the list of fonts and they can also edit the fonts to their own styles if they don’t want to use the predefined ones.

The customization options also give users the chance to add texts to videos, images and GIFs. Which means, you can soon be able to customize your own texts and add them to your media files before sharing.

Apart from editing texts and attaching them to your videos and images, you also can do text alignment from the left, centre or right, providing users with more control over formatting text within images, videos and GIFs.

Beta users can change the text background colour, making it simpler for them to differentiate important text from the rest. This will be helpful to users if they want to highlight a particular text or differentiate one text from the other.

The report also said that some new fonts have also been released to beta testers, including Calistoga, Courier Prime, Damion, Exo 2 and Morning Breeze.

The feature already comes with some predefined text for beta texting. More will follow up later in future updates.
