Meta-owned WhatsApp is one of the most used instant-messaging app in the world. The app has always brought new features and updates in a regular interval in order to improve the chatting experience of users. WhatsApp now allows users to send text, video messages and media files to contacts in the matter of just minutes. Users can even make voice/video calls and make online UPI payments via the app.

Currently, the app allows users to open one WhatsApp account in one smartphone and other three devices, i.e., desktop computers and laptops. However, users cannot open the same account in more than one smartphone. The inability to use WhatsApp on multiple smartphones has been a pain for users.

Now, reports have suggested that WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to link another smartphone to their account.

A new WhatsApp feature is under development that will allow users to add a second smartphone as a companion device and use WhatsApp from that device as well.

According to reports, the app is working on a feature that syncs your chat history across mobile devices in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android v2.22.15.13. This small feature has hinted that companion device support should eventually come to the platform.

Currently, you can use WhatsApp in up to 4 devices including one smartphone whereas Telegram allows its users to use multiple smartphones simultaneously.
