WhatsApp Payment Shortcut: Users can soon send money faster than before

WhatsApp is tipped to be working on adding a payment shortcut on the chat bar for Android users. The new feature is said to be initially available for beta testers in India.

WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo has reported that the instant-messaging app has introduced a new payment shortcut button on the chat bar for Android users with Android beta version 2.21.17.

This feature will help users to quickly send money in the time of emergency. This is available in addition to the existing Payment option that is located in the chat action sheet.

The screen shots shared by WABetaInfo shows the payment shortcut is placed in the middle of Camera and Attachments button on the chat bar.

This feature is also said to be currently rolling out for Indian beta testers only.

So the button is not yet available to all users in India and the app users of the other countries.

The report has revealed that WhatsApp is also developing a similar payment shortcut for iPhone users, and it is reportedly showing in some users chat next to Camera and Mic buttons.

Furthermore, the report has stated that WhatsApp has also launched a beta programme specifically for Desktop users.

A WhatsApp beta versions for both Windows and macOS devices has been released by the company which will let users test upcoming features and allow them to give feedback to the company if they face any issues on a developing feature. However, users will need to installed each beta version manually from the WhatsApp site.

Users can give the feed by going to WhatsApp Desktop Settings > Contact Us.

WABetaInfo has also found that WhatsApp for iPhone is also developing a redesigned contact info screen, which is expected to be a part of WhatsApp for iPhone beta 2.21.170.12. It will initially available for beta users and will be limited to business accounts.

The redesigned contact info screen will rearrange the existing Message, Audio, and Forward buttons from the top bar to just below the name and phone number of the contact.

Separately, WhatsApp has launched a beta programme for users on WhatsApp for Desktop to test unannounced features designed for Windows and macOS.

Additionally, WhatsApp is rumored to be working on expanding multi-device support to iPad and Android tablet users.
