WhatsApp new feature! Now users can preview voice messages and increase speed and more; How to do it

New Delhi: WhatsApp is one of World’s most popular instant messaging app and it provides regular updates with new features for its users. Now, with an aim to allow users to review their voice messages before sending, Meta-owned WhatsApp has rolled out a new ‘Voice Message Preview’ feature for Indian users.

With this feature, WhatsApp users can now preview their voice message before sending it to their contacts. In this way, users can check if they had make any mistakes before sending it.

The company said it will now allow users to preview their voice messages on WhatsApp before they send them. “Voice Messages are one of the most popular features for WhatsApp users worldwide,” the company said in a statement.

“They bring you closer to friends and family than a text message and unlike a call, give you the freedom to message — and for them to listen — when it is most convenient,” it added.

Meanwhile, the company has recently brought in a new privacy update to prevent unknown contacts to see a user’s last seen and online status.
This new feature has been reportedly rolled out for both Android and iOS-enabled devices.

How to send a voice message to a WhatsApp friend

• Open WhatsApp and go to an individual or group chat window.
• Now tap and hold the microphone and start speaking.
• Once you have finished talking, release your hold from the microphone symbol.
• The voice message will be send automatically.

How to use hands-free recording to send a longer voice message

If you find holding the microphone button burdensome then WhatsApp also has a hands-free recording feature. To record a hands-free voice message follow the steps below.

• Open the chat window of a friend or group.
•  Touch the microphone button and slide it up to lock hands-free recording.
• Now you can now release your hold on the Microphone button and record your message hands-free.
• When you have finished recording, press send.

How to preview voice messages on WhatsApp

• Open the chat window of a friend or group.
• Tap on the microphone and slide it up to lock hands-free recording.
• Start speaking and tap stop after you have finished recording.
• Tap play to listen to your recording. You can also tap any part of the recording to play it from that timestamp.
• You can also delete it if you don’t want to send it by taping on the trash icon.

How to speed up playback of voice message recieved on WhatsApp

You can also increase the speed of the playback of voice message by fooling the below steps.

• Play the voice messages you have sent or received.
• Listen to the message.
• While a message is playing, you can click the 1x icon to increase the speed to 1.5x or 2x.
