WhatsApp features 2022: WhatsApp users will soon receive messages in a new style; Know details

Instant-messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a new feature for its users that will show profile picture of senders along with the message notifications, reported WABetaInfo.

According to the WhatsApp feature tracker, users will be able to see small profile images of the sender along with the message notification when they receive a new message from an individual user or a Group with the new feature.

However, the feature is currently only available for a few beta testers of iPhone as the feature uses iOS 15 APIs, revealed the report. The instant-messaging app has reportedly started to roll out the first beta feature of 2022 for iOS users.

WhatsApp will reportedly release the feature for more users with the upcoming updates. The profile photo in notifications might not show for some WhatsApp users as the feature is still in the beta phase. However, these issues will likely be resolved whenever the feature will be rolled out for the public.

Last week, WhatsApp also started to roll out a beta update 2.22.1.1 for iOS users, which is reportedly has indications of a new feature that will allow users to create Communities in future updates. The beta update released for Android smartphones also contains similar hidden references.

As per screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, like a group, a Community will have a name and a description. After that users can create a new Group or link up to 10 Groups together. The report has also suggested that WhatsApp will automatically create a ‘Announcement Group’ for admins. Which will help admins to share a message with all the linked Groups.

Apart from this, WhatsApp is likely to introduce many new features in 2022 to give users a better chatting experience. The upcoming features is likely to be communities, transcribing voice memos, the added power of the group manager to a new time limit for deleting messages for everyone and in groups.
