WhatsApp Android 2.21.14.3 update: Users get a disappearing video, photos feature update

Facebook owned messaging application WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new feature for its Android users. This new update of WhatsApp offers a disappearing feature for media content to its users.

According to the latest feature update, users on WhatsApp will be able to send photos or videos which will disappear after it has been seen. Apart from photos and videos, this feature is also applicable on GIFs. This disappearing media feature is also known as WhatsApp ‘view once’ feature.

In order to use the feature, open your Gallery through WhatsApp and select the photo, video or GIF you want to send. After selecting the particular media file tap on the clock-like icon which the app will display near the “Add a caption” bar. Next, you can send the particular media to the contact you want to.

The video/ photo/ GIFs which has been sent using ‘view once’ will be notified to the sender once it is seen. However unlike other medias which remain visible after being opened, the media files sent using ‘view once’ feature disappear after it is closed.

This feature is available in the WhatsApp’s Android  2.21.14.3 version. This latest WhatsApp feature was confirmed by Chief Executive Officer of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg and Head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart to WABetaInfo.
