Volkswagen In Talks For Self-Driving Car Technology: Reports

Paris: According to a report in Reuters, Automobile giant Volkswagen is in talks with other car makers for self-driving vehicle technology.

According to the report which cited an anonymous company executive, Volkswagen is in talks with as many as 15 car makers for the initiative. Presently, more than 55 billion euros ($64 billions) has already been invested by car makers, suppliers and technology companies towards automated driving.

Automobile manufacturers like BMW have expressed eagerness to develop standards on aspects of self-driving cars including their sensor configuration.

When contacted by Reuters, the spokesperson of Volkswagen declined to comment and simply added: “We always look for partnership”.
