Tecno Pop 5 LTE with 5,000mAh battery, 14 regional language support launched in India at just Rs 6,299

Tecno has launched its latest smartphone ‘Tecno Pop 5 LT’ in India on Wednesday under the Pop Series. The smartphone comes with a 5,000mAh battery, and supports 14 regional language. The Tecno Pop 5 LT debuted in Philippines in November and in Pakistan in November last year.

The Tecno smartphone features a 6.52-inch HD+ display and dual rear cameras that is headlined by an 8-megapixel primary sensor.

Tecno Pop 5 LTE price, availability

Tecno Pop 5 LTE is prices at Rs 6,299 in India for the 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage variant. The phone is set to go on sale through Amazon India as a part of Amazon Specials from January 16. Amazon has made a special page for the phone and put a Notify Me tab on the e-commerce website for customers who are interested to buy the smartphone. The Tecno phone is launched in three colour options – Deepsea Luster, Ice Blue, and Turquoise Cyan colours.

Tecno Pop 5 LTE specifications

The dual-SIM Tecno Pop 5 LTE features a 6.52-inch HD+ IPS LCD (720×1,560 pixels) dot notch display with 480 nits brightness. The budget device runs Android 11 Go-based HiOS 7.6.  The HiOS 7.6 comes with localised features such as Vault 2.0, Smart Panel 2.0, Kids Mode, Social, Turbo, Dark themes, Parental control, Digital Wellbeing, Gesture Call Picker and others.

The company hasn’t revealed any details about the SoC of the Tecno Pop 5 LTE. However, the phone models launched in other markets is powered by an octa-core Unisoc SC9863 SoC. The phone has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that supports expansion via a microSD card (up to 256GB).

Talking about camera specifications, the Tecno Pop 5 LTE sports a dual rear cameras with an 8-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel shooter with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera module also includes a dual flashlight. The handset also has a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture at the front. There is a Micro Slit Flashlight featuring adjustable brightness.

The device supports facial recognition and has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery.

Tecno Pop 5 LTE comes with support for 14 India languages including Hindi, Bengali, Urdu and more. The phone has an IPX2 rating for water resistance.

Like the handset model launched in other markets, the Indian variant couls also have have Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Micro-USB port, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS, 4G LTE, and more.
