Tata Motors To Launch SUV Harrier On January 23

New Delhi: Indian Auto giant Tata Motors is all set to launch the much awaited SUV Tata Harrier on January 23, 2019. Bookings for the new sports utility vehicle had started in October for a token payment of Rs. 30,000. The new SUV is expected to be priced between 15-20 lakhs.

The H5X concept-based sports utility vehicle (SUV) has been established on Jaguar Land Rover’s D8 platform and powered by a new 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, churning out 14OPS of power and a peak torque of 350Nm. It features multiple driving modes (Eco, City and Sport) along with three Terrain Response modes of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) – Normal, Wet and Rough.

The front features a wide grille with integrated LED daytime running lights and below them are its high-intensity discharge (HID) type projector headlamps, and the fog lamps with cornering function. It has a noticeable road presence with length, width and height of 4,598mm, 1,894mm (without mirrors) and 1,706mm respectively.

The Tata Harrier features a floating roofline along with prominent arches over its 17-inch alloy wheels. The sculpted rear features LED tail lamp clusters that go well with the SUV’ design. It also gets good underbody cladding with front and rear skid plates which not only serves the off-roading purpose but also provides the model with a rugged look. The car is rolled out in a five-seat design but is expected to be followed by a seven-seater version as well.

Inside, the Harrier get premium dual-tone interiors in black and brown. It features faux leather upholstery with complimentary door trims and a wood-trim on the dash. It also gets an 8.8-inch TFT touchscreen display on the center console which comes with Tata’s ConnectNext infotainment suite and nine-speaker audio system from JBL. Along with the conventional connectivity options, it supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well.
