Sony launches WH-1000XM5 noise-cancelling headphones, Check the specifications here
Electronics manufacturer Sony has launched its latest noise cancelling headphones ‘WH-1000XM5’. The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones get some new features as compared to its predecessor and also receive a bump in price. The predecessor of Sony WH-1000XM5 is the Sony WH-1000XM4.
The new Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones feature thinner headband and concealed joints. Unlike the previous model, the ear cups of the WH-1000XM5 cannot fold inwards. However, the ear cups can rotate sideways. Sony provides a larger carry case for WH-1000XM5 as compared to its predecessor.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones get 8 microphone system along with QN1 audio processors. The noise cancellation feature on the WH-1000XM5 is better than the WH-1000XM4 claimed Sony. The WH-1000XM5 offers new 30mm drivers that offer a high-frequency response and offers natural sound quality as well. The Bluetooth codec that is supported on the headphones are SBC, AAC, and LDAC, which are the same as that of its predecessor.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones get Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and other important features like multipoint connection, Google Fast Pair Windows Swift Pair support, Google Assistant/Alexa support, ambient noise mode and wear detection.
Battery backup and colours
The battery backup offered by Sony WH-1000XM5 is 30 hours if ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is turned on. However, if the ANC is turned off, Sony WH-1000XM5 is 40 hours. The headphones are offered in two colours- Black and Silver.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones cost $400 (approx. Rs 31,016). The headphones are $50 costlier than its predecessor. We are not sure when the headphones will be launched in India or not. We are looking forward to the manufacturer (Sony) to give an update about the launch of the headphones in India.
