PUBG Developer Announces New Battlegrounds Mobile India Game For Indian Players

PUBG Mobile developers will now launch a new game called Battlegrounds Mobile India in the country, announced South Korean company Krafton on Thursday.

The new game is said to look similar to the PUBG Mobile India and is expected to give same experience as the popular game.

The South Korean said that the Battlegrounds Mobile India will also debut with its own esports ecosystem including its many tournaments and leagues.

The new battle royale game is expected to bring a premium, AAA multiplayer gaming experience to the player. The game is said to come with exclusive in-game events such as outfits and features.

The company also released a video teaser of the new game along with the announcement of the Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Krafton said, the pre-registrations of the Battlegrounds Mobile India game will begin before its official launch in India and it will be exclusive to India.

The game’s logo is colored with the tri-colour theme of Indian flag to attract more Indian mobile gamers.

“Krafton will collaborate with partners to build an esports ecosystem while bringing in-game content regularly, starting with a series of India specific in-game events at launch, to be announced later,” the company said.

The company also claimed that the game will obey all the applicable laws and regulations in India and collection of data and storage of Battlegrounds Mobile India will be done under the rules and with the permission of the players in the country.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) have banned the PUBG Mobile game since September 2, 2020 under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act of 2000. The popular game was banned alongside 117 other mobile applications. The Ministry claimed that these 118 Apps were prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, security of state and public order.

Kraton’s subsidiary PUBG Corporation acquired the publishing and distribution rights from PUBG Mobile’s publisher Tencent Games shortly after the ban of the app.

Fans also spotted teasers of the upcoming game in recent days, and the announcement of Kraton has finally confirmed the news.  

It should be noted that PUBG Corporation or Krafton have not shared any information on the release and timeline for pre-registrations of PUBG Battlegrounds Mobile India in the country.

Fans were devastated over the ban of the app and are hoping the govt to lift the ban on the gaming app. Now this news will surely make them look froward to something.
